Abstract
Entamoeba histolytica infection occurs in most cases like dysentery or amoebic liver abscess, but there are cases where the evolution generates a true inflammatory mass in the colon called ameboma. These amebomas are easily mistaken for a neoplastic disease and, if you do not have a high level of suspicion, they end in a colon resection. We present the case of ameboma at the Rectosigmoid junction as a cause of intestinal occlusion.
