Abstract

Smartphones has become a device of daily use and so widespread that it is even used in operating rooms for different types of purposes. The objective of this work is to describe the characteristics of the use of cell phones in the operating room. The type of work was observational, descriptive, cross-sectional with a closed questionnaire, where health personnel with access to the operating room participated. 190 surveys were conducted, 97.4% introduce the cell phone in the operating room and 71% use it within the operating room. The increasing use of these devices should be governed by hygiene rules and the ethical implications of their use in relation to the patient.
